Animal Policy
  1. PRICE AND REQUIREMENTS
    An advanced reservation must be made with our reservations department in order to carry on a pet.

    The cost to carry a pet in the Passenger Cabin is $75.00 per pet, payable at the ticket counter only.

    Your pet must have all health certificates and vaccinations for the required destination.

  2. CARRYING PETS
    Only domestic dogs and cats may be carried in the cabin of a North American Airlines airplane. Birds are NOT accepted as pets for transport in the Passenger Cabin or for carriage as cargo in the lower cargo compartments.

    Your pet must carried at all times in a pet container that can be stowed under the seat.

    A maximum of three pets per flight are allowed in the cabin of a B-757 / B-767 airplane, and pet reservations are mandatory.

    These limitations do not apply to Seeing Eye and Hearing dogs. However, Seeing Eye and Hearing dogs must be properly harnessed and kept at their master’s feet. Subject to the owners discretion, a muzzle may be required.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT NAA DOES NOT CARRY ANY PETS THAT DO NOT FIT IN THE CABIN FROM MAY 15th TO SEPTEMBER 15th, OR DURING EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS.

  3. PET CONTAINERS
    If you plan on carrying a pet, your pet container must be of a suitable size so that it fits safely under the seat and fits your pet comfortably.

    Containers must be sufficiently sturdy to restrain the animal, large enough for it to stand and turn around, and ventilated well enough that the available air supply can reach the animal. The container base should be leak proof. The container must be paw proof and permit handling without the risk of escape or injury to the handler. The container must not be potentially harmful to either the animal or the handler from nails, wires, or sharp edges.
    • Kennels transported in the cabin count toward the customer’s carry-on baggage allowance.
    • Customers will be required to provide their own approved kennels or pet carriers.
    • The kennel or pet carrier must have dimensions that do not exceed 18”L x 14”W x 8”H, fit under the seat directly in front of the customer, and have proper ventilation and a floor designed to absorb and retain liquids or solids.
    • Proper kennel construction is required to prevent the escape of the pet.
    • A design so that no part of the animal is protruding from the kennel and ample room for the pet to move freely.
    • Customers traveling with pets will not be permitted to sit in bulkhead seats or emergency exit rows.
  4. OTHER ANIMALS
    North American Airlines Flight Operations must clear shipments of livestock or various animals in large numbers.

    Scheduling with government agencies must be considered to assure that animals will not arrive at their destination during weekends or public holidays if the airport does not have customs or veterinary clearance at these times if required.

    Container markings such as “This side up” or “Live Animals” should be included as appropriate.
